Young Enterprise in Burnley
Young Enterprise North West works with thousands of young people from 4-25 every year. The organisations mission is to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise.
Young Enterprise has an aspiration to give every young person in the Burnley area and further afield the opportunity to learn more about business and the world around them. By investing in young people, Young Enterprise and its many supporters are working to ensure the North West has a reliable workforce in the future.
Young Enterprise North West uses volunteers to run all of its programmes providing a unique crossover between the world of business and education. Volunteers gladly give their time to make a difference by spending a few hours away from the office or house. Find out if your local school is involved in any of the Young Enterprise programmes, whether students are running a real company for a year in Company Programme or taking part in one of our highly effective shorter programmes. If they aren’t why don’t you be the inspiration and point them in our direction?
If you would like to get involved as a volunteer and help to educate young people about business and the wider world we would love to hear from you, after all without the support of the local community, projects like Young Enterprise would not succeed. So please make sure Burnley has a future workforce to compete with the best and invest in your North West!

Success of Emerge in 2006
In February 2006, we took 6 young people from Burnley to the Isle of Wight to participate in 'Forever Young', a week long residential personal development programme run by the Youth Coaching Academy in London. The course was fantastic and made a big impact on the young people who went.
We also raised £5000 through the private sector to train 5 young people to be Youth Peer Coaches and they went to Wales in September 2006 to do a 3 day residential course to be trained in coaching skills. They are now going through their accreditation and when fully qualified, they will offer a Youth Peer Coaching Service in their schools and help other young people to achieve more.
