Have You Got A Big Idea?
Here are some examples of what other young people around the country are doing to improve their lives and the lives of others….
GreenKnickers is a project designing and selling attractive fun underwear that is ethical. It will be produced in the UK using a fair trade co-op for underprivileged women and will be made using ethical organic fabrics.
SENSE Magazine is a peer led youth magazine project run by young volunteers. Born in the autumn of 2002, SENSE provides practical work experience to a host of young writers, designers, photographers and illustrators. The magazine covers music, sport, fashion, film, real life and everything in between! It also includes celebrity interviews, competitions, giveaways and plenty more. There is also a theme for every edition of SENSE. Previous themes include Crime in the Community, Health and Fitness and more recently UK vs. USA.
The Wellbeing Project is a social enterprise that exists to promote issues around positive mental health & wellbeing. They have developed a professional organisation undertaking health promotion activities and delivering training and education to communities in the North West. Volunteers are the backbone of their work, and they aim to provide training and support to enable them to flourish as individuals, so that they are able to help build a ‘mentally healthier’ society.
Keep Tidbury Tidy is a project: To encourage people to look after the school and wider physical environment. To improve the litter situation in the area. To enable older children to take responsibility for a project and learn new skills to help them in their future and to pass onto the younger children to carry the project on when they leave school.
